3′ x 3′ Basket Weave Wood Barn Quilt
There’s a rumor these wood barn quilts were hung on barns throughout the country to aid passengers in the Underground Railroad. Whether that’s true or not, I was introduced to barn quilts on a recent trip to visit family. All the way home I couldn’t get their beauty and simplicity out of my mind. I now enjoy creating my own to share with friends and family!
How it’s made:
Each unique barn quilt is made by hand of wood, stain, paint and love. There are always natural variations of any piece of wood so please remember this when ordering. I take great care to choose the best quality materials to use, but I also take into account the character of the final piece.
Exterior paint is used to ensure weatherability and is further weather-treated with urethane and caulk to ensure they are ready to be hung outside in a garden or on a barn, house or other structure. The backs include brackets and are hung with picture hanging wire.
All of my barn quilts are hand-painted on 1/2″ birch board, with a 3/4″ pine edge frame in stained American Walnut.
Looking for something a little different?
Many other color combinations and sizes are available upon special request. Please email me with any special orders at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss specific sizes and colors before ordering.
Because each barn quilt is unique to the recipient, all of my Barn Quilts are “Made to Order”, therefore I custom paint each one at the time of order. And since great care is taken with each one, it can take 3-4 weeks for delivery. (Many times I’m able to finish orders sooner, however orders are processed and painted in the order they were received) Occasionally, I have barn quilts available for immediate shipment, and if so, it will be listed at the top of the listing. Please contact me if you are interested in other color choices.
